Top 3 Face Cleansers for Dry Skin

1.  C. Booth’s Green Apple Microdermabrasion Scrub. This is an exfoliating scrub and is my second favorite skincare product of all time.  After each use, including the first one, my skin is noticeably brighter, and just looks good –  clear and I swear with tightened pores. It’s also surprisingly gentle – I try to treat my skin very well and am extremely wary of harsh products. This, I use only a small amount at a time and of course avoid the eye area, but harshness-wise it’s really not bad, just rub it on gently and then wash off after a minute or so. Best thing about this? It’s totally affordable at  a gorgeous – price. And did I mention it smells like apples?

2. Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. This is a dream, the gentlest cleanser I’ve ever come across but also effective, removing makeup, dirt, and oil effortlessly. It’s a light, clear cream that feels wonderful going on my skin, and perhaps my favorite part is that I can get it even in my eyes and it won’t sting – it’s that gentle. Hands-down my favorite cleanser for removing makeup, and one of my preferred ones overall. Pro-tip: look for this on eBay as it’s relatively easy to find there and is cheaper than Sephora.

3. Murad Refreshing Skin Cleanser. This is a new addition to my regime after I picked up a little box of unopened Murad samples at a yard sale. I tried the Daily Facial Cream first and wasn’t impressed – it seemed like a very basic, mid-range skin scream that didn’t do anything in particular for my skin – so I came to the cleanser wtihout high expectations.

I loved it from the first time I used it. It’s incredibly gentle but also effective – my only complaint about the Fresh Cleanser is that while it removes makeup very well, on days that I feel like my skin needs some extra help, it doesn’t really penetrate down to the pores. Murad is just as gentle and non-drying, but you can really feel it getting in there and cleansing your skin, removing impurities, oil, etc. It goes on like a white foamy cream and isn’t thick; I rub it in gently, then wash my face, and my skin is left cleansed and clear. This is one of perhaps five products I’m really willing to shell out money for because I haven’t found its like yet – it’s really hard to find a cleanser that matches your skin type and deep-cleans without leaving your skin feeling dry and tight.

I use the Murad and Fresh interchangeably throughout the week depending on my mood and use the Scrub as an exfoliant two-three times a week. With this regimen, my skin is the best it’s ever been in my life – I have zero acne and my skin is bright and clear. I can’t recommend these products enough if you have dry, slightly acne-prone skin.

Honorable mentions also go to Burt’s Bees Orange Face Cleanser and Neutgrogena Pink Grapefruit Wash, which are great drugstore products that don’t strip my skin.
