Two of my preferred brands, beauty giant Estee Lauder and tiny (comparatively speaking), mineral-loving Pacifica, both released new eyeshadow palettes this week that I am loving the look of. Pacifica came out with “Enlighten,” a set of four eyeshadows in gorgeous and versatile colors.
The shades are (from right to left):
Urchin- An irridecent jeweled purple with gold tones. Use dry as a shadow, wet as a liner. Perfect for smudging and a great substitute for black.
Golden- A perfect gold with just the right amount of shimmer. Use on the lids or line the eyes.
Coral Sand- A satin lid base or highlighter.
Skinnydip- Matte nude base, a universal brightener. Perfect for using on the inner eye to add brightness.
Apparently all other Pacifica customers loved the look of this as much as I did because the palette is currently out of stock, but I plan to snap some up as soon as it comes back and I hope you do too.
Estee Lauder also came out with Pure Color Stay-on Shadow Paints Collection, a pure pigments collection in a creamy shadow texture . These are significantly more pricey than the Pacifica (unsurprising), at $24 per pot. The light-emitting dimensional pearls create shimmer to high-metallic finishes. The line has a 12-hour wear, is crease-free and won’t fade.
It comes in:
- Neon Fuchsia
- Bold Cobalt
- Extreme Emerald
- Pink Zinc
I might shell out for the steel or the brown – I have some gorgeous NARS shadows in blue and purple but could always do with more variety.
